Zimmer Gunsul Frasca, Los Angeles
At the end of last year and the beginning of this year we moved our library from our cramped room to the other side of the office,
which we just started leasing. All of the product binders have been organized into Masterformat 2004. Luckily, we were rennovating
our space so the demo company was nice enough to take a significant amount of stone and metal to their recycling center. The best part
about the new library are the drawers which are full of stone and metal samples. In our other space you couldn't get to the material without
the possibility of a cave-in. I also now have windows.

Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, New York, NY
2008 was a productive year for us here at the Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Library; the most vital improvement being a new librarian (there are two of us, now!). We integrated hundreds of donated books into our collection and abandoned the LOC classification in favor of a more browser-friendly, specialized organization; we finally finished converting the product binders to MasterFormat 2004; and we're halfway through sorting our massive stone collection. In celebration of this, I'm posting a few photos of our space to kick off our wiki's Virtual Tour page.

We still have a long way to go to get everything inventoried and the marble and limestone wall weeded and organized, but we're coming along. I hope this inspires you all to post photos of your libraries and start getting excited about SLA 2009 in DC! See you all in June!
HGA, Minneapolis, MN
We used to be in a basement corner space, but our Minneapolis office moved into a new building in 2001 and we have now have the prominent space just inside the front doors. This has helped increase our visibility within the company, literally and figuratively. We have two librarians for the Research Library. The Interiors Resource Library is completely separate and managed by our Interiors Dept. They are co-located to encourage circulation between the two spaces. If you look at the second photo, you can see the Interiors Library at the top of the image, just above the Research Library space.

I'm envious of the clear counter space. That's where a lot of stone and tile sits... forever. Thank you for the inspiration.
